About us

Our Story

Our family’s story in Skiathos begins in the early 1950s, when our grandfather, Nikos Armamentos, opened a small seaside taverna “Panemorfes Koukounaries.” At that time, there wasn’t even a main road; communication with the village was mainly by small boats, and the island kept its authentic, peaceful character.

With homemade food, warm hospitality, and a deep love for the place, the foundations were laid for a tradition that continues to this day. Over the years, the family evolved within the hospitality field, creating today’s family-run accommodation business.

Three generations later, we remain faithful to the same values: personal service, quality, and genuine Greek hospitality.

Today, at MAISTRALI STUDIOS, you will be welcomed by Ourania Mesimeri, a graduate of Tourism Studies, and Nikos Mesimeris, who founded the business alongside his brother Theodoros Mesimeris in 1987.

For us, every guest is welcomed as a guest in our own home.

Welcome to MAISTRALI STUDIOS.

Koukounaries

Koukounaries is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece and is located in the southwestern part of Skiathos. It is one of the island’s most famous and beloved destinations. The area is known for its impressive beach with golden, fine sand and crystal-clear, shallow waters, making it ideal for both couples and families with children.

Behind the beach, a unique pine forest of stone pines exists, from which the area takes its name. The forest separates the sea from Lake Strofilia, an important wetland that hosts a wide variety of plant and bird species and is protected as part of the Natura 2000 network.

The beach is fully organized and offers a wide range of activities, including water sports and diving. Koukounaries is particularly popular thanks to the easy access from Skiathos Town. In the surrounding area, you will also find restaurants, traditional tavernas, and cafés to meet your every need.

Skiathos Island

Skiathos is one of the most cosmopolitan islands of the Sporades and stands out for its vibrant character, combining beautiful beaches, scenic alleys and vivid nightlife.

The island has more than 60 beaches with crystal-clear waters, while its lush green landscape, covered with pine trees, reaches all the way to the sea, creating a truly unique natural environment.

Skiathos Town is the heart of the island, offering numerous entertainment options. Notable landmarks worth visiting include the Papadiamantis House Museum, dedicated to the renowned Greek writer Alexandros Papadiamantis, and “Bourtzi”, a small green peninsula that divides the port into two.
